Howard Area Community Center
Howard Area Community Center is a social service agency that provides affordable and free education, employment, and health assistance programs for the greater Rogers Park area. Many of HACC’s services are life-sustaining. Individuals and families set their own goals, and HACC is here to lend a helping hand along their journey to success.
C24/7
C24/7 is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults in the North of Howard neighborhood by providing the necessary tools, security and environment for them to thrive economically, socially and spiritually
Family Matters
Family Matters is founded upon three guiding tenets that are shared, explored and utilized at every level of the organization and among all members of the Family Matters family (youth, parents, volunteers, staff and board).
Starfish Learning Center
Starfish has been a fixture in the neighborhood for 17 years. Our program is something the youth can count on to provide a safe, loving environment after school. Starfish’s impact on the children in our neighborhood is twofold: we focus on protecting our students during the crucial hours after school when a safe haven from the dangers and bad influences of the neighborhood is needed. At the same time, we work to mentor and teach our students moral principles and give them tools to equip them to lead productive, successful lives, with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty and violence so prevalent in the neighborhood.
